News : Employment Opportunities

Sonya Unrein co-owns Ghost Road Press, an indepedent literary press publishing poetry, fiction, and nonfiction titles. The press has 20 books slated for 2006, and has a strong editorial and design internship program. The press has attracted award winning authors and poets, including Denver's new Poet Laureate, Chris Ransick. They recently published a book of advice for writers, by writers, in conjunction with the Colorado Authors' League: "Writing, Etc." The press conducts a yearly writing contest for fiction, creative nonfiction, and poetry, and is planning a "First Novel" contest for 2007. Sonya said she would never have been able to tackle the launch of the press without the skills and concepts she learned in the Digital Media Studies program at DU.

Lisa Ray, DMS MA alum (2005) has accepted a position with KUSA-TV, NBC Channel 9 here in Denver as a video editor/graphics producer. She works specifically for a program that airs live daily at 10am called "Colorodo and Company" - an "advertorial" that focuses on Colorado, CO business and happenings. In her position, she edits video, produces graphics and shoots video for the program. During the live segments, she is behind the scenes helping prepare guests for their appearance, running teleprompter or camera, etc... Soon, she will be more involved in a website redesign that will include more interactive elements.

Angela Stubauer, DMS M.A. alum (2004), has been hired as a junior consultant in digital communications at a medium-sized ad agency in Cologne, Germany. www.antwerpes.com »

Judianne Triglia, DMS M.A. alum (2004), has been hired by Tribune Company as Executive Producer/Editor for Merge, a news Web site for 18- to 34-year-olds, that is launching this year. She will be managing the online staff as well as creating some edgy Web/multimedia content.

Nils Thingvall, DMS M.A. alum (2004) has taken on the position of Web Design Specialist for the Orange County Library System.

Marc W. Wren, DMS B.A. alum (2002) Head Art Director, and cyberjockey/web programmer, Tre Rudig, DMS M.A. alum (2004), are heading up the design and tech department for the world's first Internet television network, ManiaTV! www.maniatv.com »
