DMS B.A. Program | August 08 2008

Photo by Gregory O'Toole; M.A. DMS The Bachelor of Arts degree in Digital Media Studies requires a minimum of 44 hours in designated digital media studies courses.

All students are required to take the following courses:

Prerequisite Course:
ARTS 1100 Core Art and Media Program I

Required Foundation Courses:
DMST 1000 Core Art and Media Program II (design foundation)
DMST 2000 Introduction to EMAD (design foundation)
DMST 2100 Technical Foundations of Digital Media (technical foundation)
DMST 2200 Critical Approaches to Digital Media (critical foundation)

We recommend that DMS Majors take as many of the foundation courses as possible during the first year.

Students must also take at least one course beyond the foundation level in each of these three areas: Design, Technical, and Critical.

All DMS majors must also have a minor or a second major in an area other than digital media studies. It is strongly recommended (but not required) that DMS students do an internship in a DMS-related field.
