Digital Media Student Group
This new student organization is being formed as a resource for technical and design skills, professional networking and meeting other DMS students.
The group meets at 7pm on Monday
nights near Jazzman's Coffee in Driscoll, and is currently involved in the following:
o Developing a discussion/job forum;
o Planning a networking event to bring students/alumni/business
together;
o Organizaing a student-portfolio showcase event;
o Planning a DMS student newsletter;
o Hosting homework/finals study sessions;
o Pursuing scholarships.

Recent student news
DMS student doing cutting-edge 3D graphic production
Phuong Le, a DMS alum (B.A. 2004), has been hired at Etrensic, a company
based in Louisville, CO, that creates highly interactive, rich media e-learning
for the medical and pharmaceutical market. She'll be working in a creative department
using Flash, Maya, After Effects and other imaging software to create Web and
CD delivered courses written by their instructional designers. She will also
be assisting in medical image and animation preparation and creation in Flash.
3D responsibilities will include texture creation for models. www.etrinsic.com

Internships
Announcements of available internships are made as they come through the DMS
office. You will generally be given contact information specific to that internship.
You should also contact Cathy Grieve, the Director of Internships for the School
of Communication. All internships need to be monitored through her office in
order for you to receive credit for the work you do. Contact cgrieve@du.edu.

Financial Aid
DMS students apply for financial aid when applying for the program. We assign
work/study positions during the first of the year for the entire year. If any
become available at other times, we will post notice as soon as they are announced.

Technology Requirements
Undergraduate students are required to own a laptop or to take one on loan from
University Technical Services (UTS). Campus-wide wireless access is also available.
